LAS VEGAS (July 28, 2011) – Jeanne Mills, chef concierge for MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, has been elected president of the prestigious Les Clefs d'Or USA, the nation’s only organization of professional hotel concierge. As president, Mills will provide leadership to more than 650 Les Clefs d’Or USA members, distinguished by the crossed golden keys worn on their uniform lapels.
Mills has served with distinction on the national board of directors for Les Clefs d’Or USA since 2002 in the capacities of treasurer, director of fundraising and public relations, congress liaison and director of concierge relations. Most recently, Mills served as vice president of the prominent organization.
With 23 years of experience in Las Vegas, Mills was instrumental in the development of the MGM Grand concierge desk in 2006 and has since held the position of chef concierge for the AAA Four Diamond resort. In this role, Mills leads a department of 61 concierge, which encompasses the largest concierge staff located within one hotel. Furthermore, the team boasts 15 sets of Les Clefs d’Or Gold Keys, more than any other hotel in the world. Offering superior, personalized guest service, Mills’ staff collectively speaks 15 languages and has been trained in global etiquette.
Previously, Mills served as chef concierge for SKYLOFTS at MGM Grand, playing an integral role in setting up SKYLOFTS’ concierge program and establishing its reputation for extraordinary service. She also has served as a concierge for The Mirage and Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas and was one of the founders of the Southern Nevada Hotel Concierge Association, remaining an active participant.
A Las Vegas native, Mills grew up in the hotel industry when her father was a bell captain at the illustrious Dunes Hotel for more than 37 years. During the 1960s and 1970s it was the bell captain who handled all of the miscellaneous guest requests, in addition to handling guest luggage. Watching her father and mentor, Mills naturally acquired a passion to serve, leading to a lifelong career in hospitality.
